Madge is a four year old female greyhound who has been in a foster home with a female Labrador and a male greyhound since the end of January. Madge is adjusting beautifully to home life and it’s hard to believe she’s only known life away from racing for such a short time. She is clean in the house and stands by the back door if she needs to go out. Madge is respectful of the resident dogs and loves her food but waits her turn for treats, always taking them gently. Madge is an affectionate and happy little soul and will rest her head in your hands for fuss. She also likes to have kisses on the top of her head! A fast learner, Madge responds to her name and quickly learnt the boundaries in the foster home, proving to be a delightful house guest. Not without a mischievous side, her favourite trick is to carry a full water bowl around the house, sloshing the water everywhere as she goes! Madge hasn’t chewed anything in the house, and understands ‘leave’. Although she is rather partial to pinching her foster dad’s bobble hat and taking it to her bed! Madge is left for four hours during the week and the doggy cam shows that she settles down quickly and doesn’t fret when left alone with the resident dogs. She greets her foster family with great excitement on their return and her adoptive family should ignore her until she’s settled down. Madge is an easy girl to walk and has been calm around the various other breeds that she has met. She is an inquisitive girl and enjoys new experiences, she loves travelling in the car and settles down immediately. Ideally, Madge would like another hound for company so they could continue to show her the ropes as she continues to settle into life away from the track. Madge is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and flead and wormed. She can be homed both locally and nationally dependent on a successful homecheck.
